Priest is at odds with me because of my views on illegal immigration
One of the main priests at the church I attend is from Central America. During the Biden Administration he loved how illegal immigration was stepped up to an invasion level. The country that he came here from had 9% of its total population come into the USA illegally during the Biden years.
Today obviously things have changed and more people are not as happy to have the USA invaded. But this priest has his own pro-invasion agenda. He wants as many people from his region of the world to come here freely and receive free hotel rooms on taxpayer dollars and to take American jobs, etc.
So during Mass he stares at me. Like a constant stare. During every Mass. like he focuses his hatred on me because I am not pro-invasion. Personally it’s true. I don’t want people violating the laws. Personally I follow the laws of our government.
Furthermore I know for a fact that if any American went to his country (which is Communistic) we would not be allowed to be there as illegal aliens. They would not be all virtue signaling. Instead, they’d throw us in jail and throw away the key for violating their immigration laws.
So this priest has decorated our church with immigrant art and he is always conflating legal immigration along with illegal immigration, as if they are the same thing.
The thing is he stares at me during mass. For a prolonged time. As if I am this awful person for my beliefs about our immigration laws. As if I am this terrible person for not wanting the USA invaded.
So I’m not leaving this church just because of this priests agenda. Any tips how to deal with this? There’s no way on earth I am going to switch my dedication to our country. I’m patriotic and I’m never going to be an anti-American or woke about anything. Thanks
