Racers event?

Does 3rd place in the racers event give you 6 points usually, 12 for the double points?

Because my team were on 20 points after the first 2 races (1st in both) & came 3rd in the last race which should put us at 32 points? If 3rd place is 12 in the last race.

We ended with 30 points in total which doesn’t make sense as it’s basic maths that 20 (the points we already had) + 12 (the points we should have gotten from this race) is 32.

I don’t know if I’m thinking wrongly about the amount of points 3rd place gets but the other team won with 31 points and I’m thinking we should be on 32 not 30..?
