I'm being told multiple times by my dates that they see a friendship connection over a romantic one after the 2nd date, not sure what i'm doing wrong
FOR CONTEXT, i'm 6"4, conventionally attractive, and am relatively new to dating [22m], i'm also dating for long-term/life-partner, and only try to go on dates with people with similar views on that, i dont/have not done hookups or anything of that nature
i've been on 4 dates so far, in which 3 have extended into second dates which i've gone on, I receive the same feedback everytime which is generally "I had a great time, you were awesome, it was a lot of fun!", to which a second date will happen, which will usually extend a few hours over the expected end time, [i'll always point it out, say if they have anywhere to be, etc. but they'll say no and that they would like to keep going], i've done museum into picnics, cafe into parks, restaurants into riverside talks, etc for dates. where they seem like they have a great time, they'll say things like
"even with the wind blowing your hair you're super cute" or
"you're really smooth you know?"
"yk you dress really nice for a guy!"
"next time let me pay!"
"you're rare, most people wouldn't put this much effort into this!"
"do you wanna do anything else after this? i don't really want to leave yet!"
then at the end, they'll say they had an amazing time, say something about a next time, like "i'll pay" or "i have some nice ideas for [relevant thing]" etc.
afterwards, i'll always get a long paragraph saying that i was great, cute, something like that, but that they felt more of a friendship connection over romantic and say they don't want to waste my time or something like that, this scenario has happened every time man...
i guess i'm not making romantic initiatives? i don't usually hug at the start or end unless asked, or initiate any physical touch because i dont want to break any boundaries or make them uncomfortable, i don't really make romantic moves- other than a bouquet one time for the same reasons, conversations usually delve into humor, experiences, fun times, and at the end [of the first dates] i'll ask more serious questions about past relationships, what they're looking for, etc. with the 2nd being more activity, personality, etc. based in convo topics
i can give more context or situations if needed, but i'm just not sure what i'm doing wrong here? maybe its just chance but it's kind of frustrating, and i think its due to the fact that it's my first time dating this much, so the failures sting a bit more
any help, advice, etc. is very appreciated
