how to get hired?

this is my 1st time job hunting since my first job was offered to me while i was volunteering, so i have no clue on what tricks people do to get a proper job that at least pays better than my previous one.

this is also my first time trying VA jobs, so i mostly apply to positions that offer paid training since i'm not really confident in that field yet. the thing is, i'm not very confident in most of the skills i have, but i do learn things easily. because of that, i'm also trying to apply to jobs where i can change my career path.

however, most of them require good english, which is another thing I'm not confident about. then when someone replies, they sometimes seem like a scam.

most people i see apply to at least 10 jobs a day, but i only apply to about one a day. should i also apply to jobs that n'm not confident about? i feel like i could learn them quickly though.
