HAD MY CHIPMUNK A WEEK AGO🥳🥳🥳🥳 I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT...
To all Moms,
Girl TRUST YOUR GUT!! You truly know best. Don't let anyone influence you and tell you what's good for you. No matter what happens, who is around, where you're going and what's on that to do list. Remember that YOU'RE Mama. You're Mama first. Before you're a friend, sister (in-law), niece, aunty etc. Take care of yourself FIRST!!
For first time moms like me, do not worry about holding your baby 24.7. Your baby has been inside you for 9 whole months and there's no other place like mama's chest. Your baby needs your warmth, your heartbeat, your smell, your sounds. That's all they know. So give it to them whenever YOU are ready for that closeness. But careful, they might become professionals at cuddling their mothers🤭🥰
One piece of advice, something that helped me through hell as a single mom (who is also very lucky to have a bff like mine). Keep your baby fed. With a full stomach, almost anything is possible.
I have a P96 baby, weighed 4130grams /9.105lb at birth, she has a VOICE on her, she doesn't eh, neh, auw etc. Mine screams like a seagul. What helped me a lot is keeping her fed. I started with breastfeeding but quickly lost my mind. Because it hurt badly... i have used formula and she was just fine. Do not be afraid to make life easier for yourself. Today im 8 days postpartum and I've gotten myself a manual pump and gurrllll i pump between 700 and 900ml a day. Big baby, big breasts, big appetite around here haha.
Do not worry about not always responding perfectly. Your baby doesn't need perfect, your baby needs YOU. Talk to your surroundings about how you really feel. At least one person is enough. Don't suffer in silence. That might lead to moments that are hard to move past from. Please ask for help to whomever, you're not crazy, you're not a bad parent, you're not evil. You're exhausted, depleted, sleep deprived and probably also starving.
When it comes to that bowel from 10.000bc, it took me 7 days before i managed to FINALLY go number 2. It was INSANE. I took 2 laxatives, drank a lot of detox tea (yes of course everything was safe for baby too. REMEMBER you can NEVER do too much research on what you consume, wear, positions for comfort etc. When it comes to your safety and the one of your little one).
To the moms who have an asshole baby daddy. FUCK HIM. Trust me Babe, you'll be better off without. Allow yourself to feel that grief, anger, loneliness etc. But know that in the long run, you and your baby will be MUCH happier. Staying for the sake of your partners comfort and feelings while they clearly don't concern themselves with how you feel and what you go through, will only drain you further. Your baby deserves a happy mom. So don't be afraid to start over. I promise you, you'll be happier. Yes it'll sting first, but one day you'll look back and say thank God.
Your boundaries are the FIRST that matter. Be nice and kind to yourself. Give yourself grace for everything.
Your Baby Loves You‼️‼️‼️‼️ YOU GO GIRL‼️💞
