The writers, or editorial, or whoever is in charge of the ASM branch of Marvel comics seems to know that despite all the shenanigans and screw ups they've done to these characters, there's still a large number of us who still hold a candle for Maryjane Watson.

However I think this is one of few times I can say "I think I speak for everyone" without actually having that much push back when I say this.

We don't want them to magically get back together until we address the damage done by the "P.Rabin" incident.

If we're doing another round of the "Everyone is mad at Peter for not being a good friend" game then fine, but MJ isn't allowed to play. It's hard to sit hear and read her get pissy about him giving her the cold shoulder or ghosting her for months when in the very last run (yes continuity does matter) she straight up cut him out of her life in the most cold way possible when she left Peter for "HIM" and then when that slowly started to fall apart after we found out why, we're expected to act like it never happened.

The only time she gave a reason is when she decided be as vague as possible about it because they were still trying to keep up the mystique of "What did Peter do oooh~"

...We never got a real satisfying answer, It wouldn't hurt to have a moment to open up about it. But I guess not a single person in the Marvel comics editorial room had enough imagination or creativity to atleast come up with an excuse on why MJ went so hard on kicking Peter to the curb. So they just decided to keep things pushing and figured people would just forget, like they think we do with other messy storylines. (News flash by the way, we never forget)

If I was given the task of writing a scene about her saying why she did what she did. It be something along the lines of her saying "I needed to put distance between us, so many things had changed, and I was a part of this new family that needed me to put them first. If I had got close to you again, I would have eventually gone back to you like I always do and you'd be the center of my world again, and that wouldn't feel like the right thing to do. I'm just sorry that you had to be Collateral...like the scorched earth kind."

Something like that.

Would it be enough to get everyone to let go of their resentment? No definitely not, there are still some who are just done with all of this. But it would be enough for others to atleast think her reasons were somewhat rational. Then maybe things between MJ and Peter can start to heal in a way that's believable.

That aside there are still a list things that haft to change now that we're in a post Zeb Wells ASM era.

#1: I no longer want to hear anyone question if Peter loves MJ as much as he did Gwen, the fact that he groveled to Gwen's murderer for help to save her is clear proof how deeply he cares for her.

#2: Though Peter still has a problem of acting like that being Spider-Man is more important than his responsibilities as Peter Parker. I will no longer entertain the idea that he wouldn't burn down his entire superhero life for a certain love one like Maryjane. Since that's basically what he almost did.

#3: If a friend or acquaintance of Peter is complaining to Maryjane about Peter or if they are complaining about Peter while MJ is in the room, and is ranting on about how he's not there when you need him. I'm going to need her to be a Mediator for Peter and vouch for him, Aunt May alone should not be the only one doing this. Especially after Peter did everything in his power to make a miracle happen to save her in her time of need and was still on call by when she actually called for help after she ghosted him.

Well that concludes my Ted talk on the current state of ASM.
