When I was growing up, all the boomers used to yell at us for playing slow and said holding people up is rude. When did the rules flip to where calling out slow play is considered rude?

General Discussion

this genuinely makes no sense to me. I was raised on the fact that holding people up on the golf course was considered rude, and that pace is more important than score.

Since when did the rules flip? Apparently score is more important than pace of play these days because NOW if you yell at people for holding you up, then you are the rude one for yelling. It wasn’t like that back in the day though? When did the rules change?
