New owner - Bambu P1S + AMS. I'm looking for some guidance on a few aspects including: Queueing & tips for fine details

Question

Hi folks,

I received my first 3D printer, a P1S + AMS this week. I've had really good results so far using it with the Handy App + Bambu Studios for printing on the fly, as well as getting some files from thingiverse.

It's been a steep learning curve having never printed anything but I've been doing lots of reading and have been demoing different types of builds.

So far, I've not changed any settings applied by file designers, however I'd definitely like to soon enough in instances where e.g. I 'd like to make something stronger with more infill etc.

I've been using the Sunlu & eSun PLA+, but am planning to order some PETG for some tasks.

Some questions if I may:

  1. I've been printing some quite large things that have resulted in 3-4 plates worth of designs, is there a way using Bambu Studio to queue them, so once I remove the first plate's finished prints, I can just start the next one? I've been having to go back into the listing on makers world, and manually select the 2nd plate to print after the first plate is done, which is quite time consuming and generally just feels a bit annoying.
  2. I've got some designs of parts I need to print, some very small details e.g. part is total 11mm long and has varying thicknesses throughout it's length. I'm going to get the part modelled for me, but is there any specific settings I should/shouldn't apply to ensure absolute best quality, fine detail etc? I would like to print circa 20-30 on one plate (assuming it's enough space for Bambu Studio to do it's thing). I've only used the 0.4MM nozzle, but I feel as though the 0.2 will make a big difference to the output quality too.
  3. I've had a re-occuring issue with a Sunlu (yellow) PLA+ filament not retracting at the end of the print, I often find that's not able to move, so I lift it out of the AMS cradle (still with filament running into tube) recentre it in the cradle and reseat and then check the rollers are good. It happens probably 2/5 times, and it's not a major issue, just wonder if this is common? I feel as though it's the spool design resulting in it contacting something it shouldn't be and jamming itself. I've not confirmed yet if it's the specific filament/spool or the particular 'slot' in the AMS cradle that is the issue.
  4. I've really struggled to apply different colours to items on certain plates e.g. all are white and I want to change one plate to yellow, but regardless of what I do I just can't seem to figure it out, they all want to change colour, or just not the one I'm wanting to change :)

Any guidance is greatly appreciated! Really enjoying this experience, this thing has been running 24/7 for about 5 days now.

Thanks!
