Kyubey's Reasoning Is Weirder The More I Look At It.

Spoiler:sayaspoiler: Rebellion Spoiler

Something stood out to me on my current watch of the show. Kyubey talks about his reasoning for collecting the energy of magical girls is to prolong the life of the universe. This isn't a wild thing on it's own, but the nature of even doing something for that reason just seems odd for Kyubey, unless there's a bigger reasoning for it. I think there's something being unsaid more than the reason of "You don't want the universe to be desolate when you arrive, do you?", since we know how he operates by lying through omission.

In Rebellion during Homura and Kyubey's conversation, Kyubey states how satisfying curiosity is illogical, and Homura picks up on that contradiction and finds the truth not long after. I started to wonder, what if it's the same situation? Enabling curiosity for mankind doesn't feel like a good reason in Kyubey's case, which brings me to this question: what is the reason then if not just for people to learn about space, cause again— that's not convincing to me coming from Kyubey. I'm starting to wonder if it's something I missed, or if I'm on to something else potentially. It could be like that for them to simply feed for nourishment but, I want to see what everyone else comes up with cause I got nothing.
