Just to bring a purse on a greyhound , i need to pay $22?

Just got off the phone with greyhound customer support. I asked them about what the rules were about carrying a handbag or purse because they said passengers were allowed to bring 1 duffel bag up to 25lbs and 1 suitcase up to 50 lbs

BUT there were no rules about bringing a carry on that i would keep on me, not store underneath. The agent said i’d need to pay $22 to bring any extra baggage.

Like what??? $22 is just extreme bc i need something to hold my wallet, phone, and insulin that i have to carry on me at all times.

Anyone else ran into issues like this? I mean it’s not like my purse can fit THAT much in it.
