The Story of Me and My Wife
Part 1
The story of me and my wife started with something simple a moment that felt bigger than it should have. The first time I saw her, the connection was instant. It wasn’t loud or dramatic. It was quiet and certain. The kind of feeling where, before you even know someone, a part of you already feels like you’ve known them forever. All I remember thinking in that moment was that I wanted to hold her and never let her go. Our first date was supposed to be dinner and a movie. We did make it to dinner. But after that, we never made it to the movie. We sat there talking… and talking… and talking. Hours passed without either of us noticing. By the time we realized it, the movie had already started and finished. Neither of us cared. Somehow missing that movie ended up being the perfect start to our story. That night set the tone for everything that followed. We could talk for hours about absolutely nothing, yet somehow always discover new things about each other. Every conversation felt like finding another piece of someone who already felt familiar.
Later that year, on her birthday, I wrote her my first real love letter. The original still belongs to her, word for word, where it should be. But it went something like this: “Happy birthday sweetheart. This year has been incredible. Finding you has been like finding an old friend I somehow lost and just discovered again. We can talk for hours and hours about nothing at all, yet somehow always find new things to say. I never knew a connection like this could exist until you walked into my life.” That was the beginning of our story. And honestly… it’s still unfolding.
