Need advice for bop

I recently got a new bird of paradise. I put it in a new pot just slightly larger than what it was in. It's gotten three new leaves already and all of its larger leaves appear happy and healthy! But it is losing the smaller leaves at the base. They turn brown and shrivel up. Should I be worried about this?
