Children's picture book made up of several simplified renditions of famous tales.
I can't even BEGIN to guess what the title would even be, so if you name it - I will literally have to look it up!!! Thankfully, I remember the cover.
I got TWO of these books for my 10th birthday by two different family members. My mother was angry that I had mentioned it while unwrapping it; she found it rude.....well excuse me!!!!
The book was red. It was surprisingly heavy - maybe due to it being a hard back. Just the very edge of the pages were gold, so when it was closed it gave a gold shimmer.
The cover photo displayed a pirate captain. It wasn't a real photo, it was drawn, not super realistically, but not goofy or cartoon-ish either. The only story I remember was Ali-Baba's "Open Sesame."
How I could've lost both of them over time is really really sad. 😔
