I bought this little roe deer figurine today from an antique shop along with a Lomonosov tiger cub and I’d really love to find the maker. I just love the way he’s been painted and the attention to detail in his sculpt - especially the antlers and hooves. I’ve tried all afternoon to identify him, but have made literally no progress beyond finding some similarly painted models by Huntschenrueter and Cortendorf, which have entirely different poses.

I know he isn’t Lomonosov, nor does he appear to be stamped by a well known maker, unless I’m mistaken (I’m new to collecting ceramic animals.) The photos attached aren’t the clearest, I know, but the lettering on the underside of the figure is as hard to read in person as it is here. I’m also not entirely sure which way up it is meant to be read, so I’ve included a flipped image too.

I thought maybe I could read the word Grommt or Grummt there, and have found that Grummt is a German surname, but can’t make head nor tail of the other word or serial type number below it.

Any help is much appreciated! The vintage and antique subreddits don’t allow you to ask for ID help anymore, unfortunately, so this is the only other place I could find that might be able to find out.
