EFHW Inverted-L 10-40m Placement Question (with photos)
Hello,
I hope everyone is doing great!
I have a question regarding installation and placement of an EFHW wire antenna in Inverted-L configuration for 10-40m.
In the pictures you can see that I am working on a side of my house that “boxes in” the vertical antenna portion (at least until it gets above the roofline).
Legend for illustration:
· RED- LMR600 Coax exits the house
· PURPLE LINE- LMR600 COAX to Grounding and Lightning Arrestor and then to EFHW transformer
· PURPLE BOX- Grounding and Lightning Arrestor
· BLUE- EFHW Transformer
· GREEN- 14 AWG antenna wire
· ORANGE- 6 AWG ground cable
Questions:
1) Is the proximity of the house detrimental to the performance of the antenna?
2) Would you recommend a different configuration?
3) How important is it that the ground is bonded to the common house ground (the main city power junction box is all the way around the house)?
Thank you!
