Idea to avoid 60+ minute games

Article

I love watching pro Dota, but 60+ minute games can get really draining. A lot of the time both teams just avoid each other and wait for the other side to make a mistake.

Sometimes I want to stop watching, but I can’t because I still want to see who eventually wins.

It’s especially frustrating when a team like Falcons or Tundra has a 20k gold lead and full map control but still refuses to go high ground. At the same time, you can’t blame them — pushing high ground is incredibly risky, and one bad teamfight can throw the entire game.

It also feels bad when a team spends 40–50 minutes building a massive advantage and then loses everything because of one failed high-ground push.

My suggestion:

At around 55–60 minutes, a single-use power item should spawn in the center of the map.

The item would give a temporary team-wide buff — with offensive and defensive capabilities.

The goal would be to give the attacking team a meaningful advantage when pushing high ground, helping offset the natural advantage of base defense.

Teams that control the map late game should be rewarded for it, and this could help prevent extremely long stalemate games.
