Coaching the local youth football team - the time commitment
Hi there,
For those who have previously coached local football teams (U9–U11), what’s the typical weekly time commitment like? I imagine it’s fun and very rewarding - interacting with the kids, seeing them improve, and helping them grow as players.
I know the usual schedule for this age group is one game per week plus one training session, so around two hours on the field. But I’m sure there’s additional logistics and some admin/housekeeping work involved as well.
I’m keen to help out at the local club, but I already have a few things on my plate (kids, school board, occasional DIY projects, full‑time job, etc.) and I’m a bit worried about burning out. The last thing I want is to take on too much and end up doing none of it well.
Ta!
