3 months, 5 visits, geo-tagged evidence, and tomorrow I’m going with municipal officers to serve a notice to my neighbour

I wanted to share a strange civic experience I’ve been dealing with for the last few months.

My neighbour connected their house sewer pipe directly into the open drain (naali) instead of the proper sewer line. Because of this, sewage water constantly flows in the drain right outside my house and the smell is honestly horrible. Mosquitoes, dirty water, everything.

At first I tried the normal approach.

I spoke to them politely multiple times over 3 months.
Visited their house about 5 times asking them to fix it.

Every time I got the same answer:

Nothing changed.

So I finally filed an official complaint with the Dehradun Municipal Corporation.

But instead of just writing a complaint, I went full evidence mode:

• Color photos of the pipe
• GPS / geolocation in the photos
• Timestamp
• Video proof of sewage flowing into the drain
• QR code linking to the video
• Exact location coordinates

The pipe is clearly visible from outside the property, so you don’t even need to enter the house to see it
