"to play this you'll need to buy it" message showing up on games from "owned games"

As per the title. I have gone back to my ol' Xbox one for the first time in ages, used to have game pass and during the time owning it I bought some games with the discounted prices offered through it.

I decided I wanted to play some superhot which I'm pretty sure I bought through game pass years back, I now get the "to play this you'll need to buy it" message appear.

I tried loading up BF1 & Trails evolution and got the same thing but then tried FC Primal which I think I got in a normal sale as a Far cry bundle and that worked, is it now the case that games purchased with game pass discounts applied aren't playable if you don't have game pass still??
