Jefferson Mays in the Audiobooks

This may sound stupid but pls hear me out Beratnas.
The internet says that he did the whole audiobook series and I love his work on the Expanse.
I just started Nemesis Games and find his voice so different in contrast to the other books.
Did you as well found that really weird and off putting? Any particular reason for this?
I was so looking forward to this after Cibola Burn which I also enjoyed a lot but this really puts me off.
