Medium sized pavis, which runs along your arm?

Do you ever run this weapon in your builds or just for run? I have a medium armoured willy in the veteran rank. I crafted a mace as long as possible, a bit over 1000g, and a cog suited for quick and precise smashes. I have the pavis on my left side (obvsiouly), and hold the mace pointing along the right side of my body. I usually start off by turning to my right to face my pavis towards the enemy, while circling to their left. I usually wait for a swing, and if it comes from my right it hits my pavis and I go for a horizontal smash at their head or leg, but if they swing with an overhead or toward my right side, it usually just deflect it, then sprint and start smashing with an overhead or slashes leading from my right side. Most attacks are overheads or slashes from my right, but I only open my gaurd up for a cross body slash, or alternate slash, when I get a deflect or they miss a bit and i can circle around that way. Especially when they have a sheild too. Its great for just keeping it aimed at your enemy and sprinting for a sort of shield shoulder check, then instally trying to crack their head, legs, or arms. I dont find my self half guarding as much though, since it kinda gets in the way. I've come to a conclusion that the 2 main weaknesses are: lack of alternate attacks/cross body slashes or oh's (lack of attack variety in other words, and limited mobility for general attacking and half guarding/half swording.

I've tried running it with a 2 handed spear, but not much other polearms or swords. Any thoughts or experience. Also, was this even used back then? I've known some Sheild we're obviously held in space by the majority of your arm, but ive never seen ones that run along almost the entirety of your shoulder and arm, such as the one depicted on the game.
