Hello! I am new to this & need a little assistance.

I started my starter from scratch. It is 41 days old. Up until about 2 weeks ago I was feeding every 24 hours at a 1:1:1 ratio. I noticed by the 18 hour mark she (my starter) was thinking & smelled of hooch. So I started feeding at a 1:1.5:1.5 ratio every 24 hours. Knowing she wasn't very strong i didnt want to overfeed her. I did the 1.5 for about 3 days/feedings & noticed she was still hungry at the 24 hour mark. So I moved to a 1:1:1 feeding every 12 hours. After about 3 days/feedings the result is still a hungry starter at hour 12 which a very aggressive hooch smell. So I moved to a 1:2:2 feeding every 12 hours.

I have now been feeding 1:2:2 every 12 hours for about 4 days/8 feedings. At around the 10 hour mark she is already thin & smells of hooch. Honestly, a few hours after i feed (before she's risen) it still has a hooch-y smell.

My question is, should I up the feeding ratio to help is cutting down on the smell/hooch-y starter or is there something I can add to assist in fixing this issue?

I know it should not smell hooch-y all the time. I was worried about overfeeding & ended up underfeeding for too long that I caused this smell (I assume).

The attached picture is currently before I feed. Last feed was 11 hours ago at a 1:2:2 (Starting with 50g starter).

Any assistance is appreciated! Thank you!
