Changeing 4k 32" to 2k 32"

so imagine you wanna play a competitive game and need more fps so you decide to lower your monitor resolution to 1440p, i know this might sound like a silly question BUT, will it be a VERY noticeable change ?

I'm planning to buy 4k 32inch monitor and I've heard that 32inch are the best for a 4k resolution but i also play some competitive games sooo idk i feel like the image quality will be bad comparing to a 2k 27inch monitor
