The First Moral Victory: Mr. Will Jacks

It has been by the gentlemen and ladies of r/englandcricket that Mr. Will Jacks, a talented English Cricketer has been absolutely robbed of the player of the tournament trophy yesterday in Ahmedabad. This heist has not been taken lightly by r/MoralVictory.

We understand that Mr. Jacks' great contribution in matches against giants like Nepal, Italy, Sri Lanka and both Finalists has been ignored. The robbed trophy has been handed over to Mr. Sanju Samson, who only played 3 remarkable knocks in the tournament. Some argue that his scores in important matches like semi-final and final had more impact than the consistent efforts™ of Mr. Jacks throughout the tournament. But this we say is just delusional fantasy of the other side. It is well settled that 50 intentful runs albeit in group hold more value than intentless statpadding in final stages.

Secondly, Mr. Jacks is an all-rounder, he bowls, bats and fields well. Mr. Samson, although bats well sometimes, cannot bowl and it is a very well established fact that wicket-keeping is not real fielding. This concept was not a part of proper cricket ™ until some kangaroos down under hopped behind the wickets while fielding.

Thirdly, Mr. Sanju made his runs on flat wickets, while Mr. Jacks is an expert in playing difficult tracks (which is one of the reasons he was not in his prime at the easy, flat pitch of Wankhede stadium). The mere fact that Mr. Jacks was the player of the match on the difficult pitches of Kandy and Colombo when skillful teams like Sri Lanka (home ground advantage) and Pakistan struggled is enough to prove who the player with better temperament® is.

Fourthly, ICC clearly supports (some say favours) Indian players and Indian team, which isnthe the only reason why the Indian team has been winning consistently in ICC tournaments recently. If the WTC finals would have been kept elsewhere they would have definitely won that as well, thank the cricketing gods they keep the WTC finals at Lord's for every cycle.

Our statistics team conducted a deep research on Google and found out that Mr. Samson has scored 321 runs in this T20 WC while Mr. Jacks has scored 226 runs and took 9 wickets in 8 innings, including the wicket of Mr. Samson in the semi finals, this crucial dismissal was the reason why the total was restricted to mere 254, which was almost chased by the English batters (including a great knock by Mr. Jacks). For all intents and purposes it was a Moral Victory®. Such impactful innings matter more than close wins like the one Mr. Samson and Mr. Bumrah got for India. Mr. Yadav should have let England play the finals adhering to the spirit of cricket.

But, alas! The diminishing presence of lack of spirit of cricket has absolutely robbed Mr. Will Jacks of a well deserved POTT.
