25f leaving my creative career for a stable job
Hi all,
This is a throwaway. I'm a 25f, who has spent the last couple of years working towards my career in the performing arts (theater). I officially decided to leave halfway of last year and now am preparing to enter a new industry. However, I don't know where to go.
I tried a some other activities namely going into beauty and personal training. I found that I enjoyed doing nails but am finding it hard to get my small business of the ground and struggle with marketing. I hated personal training. I disliked working with people in a personal and sensitive manner and instructing them on what to do. Basically, I found it boring.
I considered other roles in the arts but I feel that jobs are few and dependent on me networking (which I am poor at) and many of my peers who graduated with me are either unemployed or working in service roles such as baristas.
I considered continuing with beauty and then entering a part-time tertiary program, but I don't know in what. Besides being creative as a performer, I am an analytical and systematic thinking but most careers seem to be suffering from macroeconomic influences as well as the threat of AI. What do you think I should do?
I do very much want to still participate in theater, especially as a director or producer but until then, I need a stable paycheck as I would love to eventually move out of home and start a small family in the near future.
TLDR: ex-performing artist (actor/dancer) wanting to leave for something more stable to start a family/move out.
