Suspend studies

So I just started as a first year and decided that for personal reasons I want to suspend my studies. I'm not sure if I want to suspend for a semester or for 2 semesters. What should I do if I want to suspend for 1 semester now, and then decide later if I want to take the whole year off? Maybe suspend for 2 and then return earlier if im ready? Thank you.
