Is buying a classic Porsche for the first 911 a bad idea?

Finally at a point where I’m considering my first 911. Budget is roughly 120-130K. As like most, I really love the 993 but also find the 930 and 964 very appealing as well.

Obviously can’t buy a new one, turbo, etc., so I was considering a more classic style. It’ll be a weekend driver. I’m not a car guy by any stretch of the imagination. Concerned I may be getting in over my head by getting a classic vs maybe 991 (fits my budget) Any advice?
