It this normal wear

Hey I've had my Kånken now for around a year I was just wondering if the wearing of the dark patina on the button is normal wear.

I do have a have a habit fidgeting with the button when holding the bag so it's probable I've worn it off,I've just noticed the button now looks a lot more shiney to the rest.
