Sperrkonto or Scholarship ??
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to study in Germany, and I know that tuition at public universities is almost free. My main issue right now is the blocked account. As you know, international students usually need to show proof of funds for one year, and my family currently cannot afford that amount.
My father believes that we can just look for a scholarship instead, but I honestly don’t know if that’s realistic. That’s why I’m here:
Are there actually scholarships that cover the blocked account or living expenses?
Do fully funded scholarships exist for Bachelor/Master students? Are there scholarships that only cover housing or part of the cost?
I also need advice because I want to explain to my father that relying on a scholarship alone may not be possible (if that’s the truth). I feel like he doesn’t fully understand the urgency, and I need realistic arguments and information to show him what the actual chances are.
would really appreciate hearing from people who have experience with this or who managed to study in Germany with financial support. Is it actually possible, or is the blocked account basically unavoidable?
Thanks a lot for your advice!
