Is Nyaa Gold worth it?

As the title states, is NYAA gold useful? I'm currently in J1 and I want my portfolio to be good, so I'm considering joining it. I didn't do silver in secondary school, so if I'm doing gold, it would span over 18 months. People who registered for this, how was your experience and it is worth it? I heard only 300 people achieved gold last year, so obviously it's going to be hard. Is it too time-consuming? Is it better to sign up for this or just do school VIA stuff? Do universities even care if you signed up for this? Thank you so muchh :))
