Broadband with Own Router

Hi All,

I'm due to receive a Vodafone hub/activation next week. I'm currently running my own router with a Virgin hub in modem mode. I've read several posts and understand I can plug my router straight into the ONT and don't need to use the Vodafone hub. I just need to get the pppoe credentials from Vodafone.

The bit I can't work out is if I need to use the Vodafone hub at all, do I even need to unpack it? Or can I just plug in my own router on the activation day?
