Help! AZ is so behind.

Question

I know a lot of families are struggling and going through it. Has anybody applied in Arizona recently and actually been approved in a timely manner? I feel as though I have heard of nobody applying and getting approved.. I know they are short staffed and I’m not the only one in the world.. but why is this just our state. What should I do ?

I did a new application for food stamps on 1/16/26 and completed the phone interview the day it was due. Got a letter saying I didn’t complete it. Did an entire new application on 2/5/26 and completed my interview the same day. All documents were uploaded which included a paystub and a letter that I’m no longer working and lost my job . I LEFT IN NOVEMBER. I provided a letter from my boss with all required information as well as my last paystub.

I was also on food stamps while employed.

Long story short I saw I received a denial notice for failure to provide information. The documents are in the my family benefits portal. I should have been approved, I’m low income and have a newborn baby and a toddler

Even with the new requirements I know I should be approved. I feel like I’m doing everything I’m supposed to and it’s hard to even get through to someone on the phone once a week for updates.. which they never give anyway and filing an appeal could take months.

Should I just reapply? It says if I submit the documents by a certain date I can receive benefits from when they are received.. even though it should be from my application date and now I’m going to have to wait another 30 days+ if I do a new application and do the process all over again.
