I finally pulled all my “Camera Flash Karma” drafts into one piece and I think it might actually be good?

I’ve been writing this poem/spoken word piece called Camera Flash Karma for a while, and it started as a bunch of separate drafts/fragments that were all circling the same idea.

It’s basically about posting yourself online, trying to control how people see you, and the way that version of you always seems to come back and haunt you a little. Flash, selfies, captions, thirst traps, screenshots, reputation, all that.

It’s funny in parts, kind of mean, kind of self-dragging, but also sincere. I wanted it to feel messy and sharp and a little too real.

A couple lines from it:

A camera flash is basically karma with better timing.

and

I post my body like I invented being hot. Karma posts my personality with flash on.

Would love honest feedback if that sounds like something you’d read. I’m especially trying to figure out whether it works as a spoken-word piece or if it leans too long/self-aware.
