Protein timing experiment for glucose spikes β€” interesting result

πŸ₯— Nutrition & Metabolism

I recently tested how protein timing affects my glucose response.

Example meal (inari sushi):

Fasting: 92 mg/dL
1 hour: 142 (+50)
2 hours: 127

In another small experiment I tried eating protein before meals.

What I noticed:

β€’ Protein 10–30 minutes before a meal β†’ noticeably smaller glucose spike
β€’ Protein together with the meal β†’ little difference
β€’ Protein about 1 hour before β†’ almost no effect

So timing seemed more important than total protein intake.

I usually eat around 1.6–1.7 g protein per kg body weight, and interestingly my body fat stays relatively stable even without heavy exercise.

Curious if others tracking glucose or CGM data have seen similar effects with protein timing.
