Vinegar to "correct" alkaline fertilizer?

So my husband dumped a whoooole lot of wood ash all over my little potato field. From what I understand, wood ash isn't that great for potatoes. I was wondering if you have any advice on natural fertilizers to correct this, like diluted vinegar or using coffee grounds/something else? I prefer natural methods if possible!
