BF wants me to waive spousal support in marriage

Advice

I am currently applying to grad school for a niche masters in healthcare. I enjoy the subject and career path, but it's more tied to big main hospitals. However, my boyfriend would like to move to a rural area. Think like 10+ acres of land. I'm not opposed, but I will either be cutting my income even to the point where the masters will be pointless or having to drive 2+ hours total commute. This is in addition to him wanting kids. Again, I am find with having kids but I will probably be the one taking a step back on my career. I told him if we lived closer to the city like we do now, even in the suburbs, where there is more job opportunity (at least for me to make a career for a bit), I am fine with waiving. However, if he wants to live in a rural area I do not feel comfortable doing that as I feel I would be making current and future income sacrifices. I am just afraid if we get marriage and then divorced I will be the one with the resume gap and no house. It seems like a lot of his coresidents also have a negative or neutral view on spousal support. They have either higher paying jobs, wfh jobs, or have been with their spouse since med school (I met mine when he was a PGY1). I just don't know if I am being unreasonable. My parents definitely think I should not waive spousal support at all.

We do agree on other things like not taking on each others debt, who would take the house, and how premarriage money and assets will be separated
