Vietnam wedding dress code

Hello all, I'm going to a wedding in Vietnam in April. I'm not sure what to wear (I'm an asian female) as I originally thought a formal short dress will do it, but now my friends who are Vietnamese said there'll be Vietnamese uncles showing up in jeans and that it'll be casual. The groom also described the function more of a celebration/ gathering and not really a wedding?? as we've already done one here (in Australia).

I don't want to stand out but still look nice and appropriate. What sort of things does vietnamese women wear to these gatherings?
