tent poles on airplane

Hello! I have a question about tent poles on carry on bag. Have you ever had any problems with security? How to pack your tent poles so you dont have any problems with it or how to avoid them to take them? Im pretty sure tent pegs are not allowed on airplanes, but what are other things not allowed? Thank u!
