Going to court for a Specific Issue Order advice
Hi,
Looking for advice and guidance. I'm a dad, co-parenting my son. He's with me 2-3 nights every week. He's in primary school.
Me and his mum have a very challenging relationship. She has been gatekeeping my access to him ever since we separated and number of years ago.
We've attended mediation and I've also had legal advice. But we've not been able to move towards a fair and collaborative arrangement.
Term time arrangements are agreed, but I'm keen to agree consistent approaches to holidays. these hokdiay request are always resisted, restricted and delayed.
I've been reluctant to go to court up until now due to the costs involved. How do ordinary working people afford court costs and access to justice!?
However I'm now at the stage where I don't feel like the status quo can be maintained and all other avenues have been exhausted.
Looking for advice or to hear the experiences of anyone who went to court for A Specific Issue Order , and self represented.
What are the pros and cons of doing this ? What risks are involved?
I'm in Scotland, so legal systems and process potentially different from rUK
