Made a bad buy and 3 years later need another car; decision paralysis!

Title pretty much sums it up. I bought a 2011 nissan xtrail with a CVT 3 years ago and now the CVT is trying very hard to kark it and I'm sure it will succeed very soon. I now have funding to buy a new vehicle but I'm totally stuck on decision making due to this xtrail.

All I know is I won't be buying a Nissan or any other vehicle that contains a CVT transmission. It's not negotiable.

I drive rural roads, up to 500-600km a week. My driving habits would suit a diesel or a hybrid. I have up to $30k to spend. I do not want a sedan or a hatch. WTF am I going to buy?

On a side note, I did test a Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and I liked it but I think there was something wrong with it so I walked away. My partner and I also own a Toyota Prado so we don't particularly need another one. I just don't know what to do.
