Elective Induction - is it rude to call?

Need Advice

Hi all, I’ve officially bypassed by due date (40 +1). At my appointment last Friday, I opted to be placed on the elective induction list. (Please no opinions about inductions - this decision was made after LONG discussions with my care team who I trust fully). Since this is considered elective rather than medically necessary, I’m aware that I fall last on the totem pole for priority. My question is - is it rude to call and ask if they’re able to provide an update on where I stand? I understand my status may change based on what comes in, but quite frankly we thought I’d be called by now after the talk with my Dr. and how things usually work. Just growing impatient which is no one’s fault!! TIA!
