I don't use hotel dental kits

I travel quite a bit, and I’ve realized that the "complimentary" dental kit is one of the most unnecessary perks in the hotel industry. I never open them, and honestly, more people should stop using them.

Here is why:

The Quality Gap: Most hotel toothbrushes feel like they were manufactured to scrub grout, not teeth. I carry a high-quality, premium brush that actually does the job without making my gums bleed. Why downgrade just because it’s "free"?

The Plastic Waste: These kits are almost always single-use plastic wrapped in more plastic. By bringing my own, I’m not adding another cheap handle and a tiny, half-empty tube of paste to a landfill.

The "Pay it Forward" Logic: If I don't touch the kit, the housekeeping staff doesn't have to replace it. It stays there for the next guest who might have actually forgotten theirs, saving the hotel a tiny bit of overhead and reducing the total number of kits being cycled through the room.

If you can remember to pack your socks, you can remember to pack a decent toothbrush. Stop settling for the cheap plastic stuff.
