[Question] Has anyone had an acrylic/hesalite crystal melt or deform when exposed to heat?

Discussion

Hello, I've searched for an answer to this question online and havent been able to get the exact info im looking for. I know acrylic crystals can be damaged when exposed to reletively low temps compared to mineral and saphhire, but has anyone who works around industrial ovens/furnaces or in resturaunt kitchens (just jobs where your exposed to high heat) ever had their acrylic crystal fail on them from the temp?

I work in an industry where sometimes im reaching in and around furnaces that put off a lot of heat. It hot enough that my skin has got burned from the hot air. Sometimes the gloves and/or shirt im wearing will start smoking and I can feel the heat penetrating through the layers.

I have a watch that has been my absolute favorite for a long time now, and I always switch to my "work watch" while doing this job from hell I just explained. Work watch has sapphire crystal. Well, im getting kind of sick of changing watches as stupid as that sounds. I just want to wear the one I really like all the time. Im fine with the scratches and dings that will happen to a worn watch, but im worried about taking my gloves off one day to find my domed acrylic crystal melted down onto my dial or even the heat changing the shape slightly enough that I dont even notice but now its not waterproof to its rated depth.

Any info or personal experience with acrylic crystal durability (mainly with temperature) would be appreciated.
