Dear Apple,

Fuck you.

But also please — for the love of god — add a QR code scanner for images in the Photos app.

Every other platform on earth can do this. Android has had it for years. Even random third-party apps can do it. Yet on iOS in 2026 we can only scan QR codes using the camera app like it’s 2012.

Here’s the extremely common scenario:

	1.	Someone sends you a QR code screenshot

	2.	Or you download a QR code from a website

	3.	Or it’s inside a PDF, slide, or WhatsApp image

And now what?

You literally have to open the image on another device and scan it with your phone camera like some caveman workaround.

Yes, I know there are hacks like:

	•	saving to Files

	•	using random apps

	•	or trying Live Text magic that works maybe 30% of the time

But this should be native behavior.

Photos should just detect a QR code and give:

“Open link”

That’s it. Done.

Apple adds 47 different ways to customize lock screens and emoji reactions but somehow basic QR decoding from gallery images still isn’t built in.

It’s such a small feature but it would remove one of the most stupid everyday frictions on iOS.

Anyway.

Dear Apple:

Fuck you.

But please fix this.

Dear Apple: Fuck you, but please add QR code scanning from gallery images
