It’s the stuff nobody talks about in daylight.
The same temptation that creeps back no matter how many times you swear “this is the last time.”
Late nights, private moments, when nobody’s watching—resistance crumbles, guilt floods in, and the cycle restarts.
You feel exhausted from the fight, ashamed of the falls, and distant from God because “how could He want me close after that again?”

I’ve been there more times than I want to admit. Last night the weight hit heavy. I stopped pretending and just talked to Jesus—no excuses, just honesty about the struggle.

Me: Jesus… I keep fighting the same temptation.

Jesus:
You feel tired of resisting.

Me: Sometimes I don’t even resist. I just give in.

Jesus:
Temptation grows in distance.

Me: Distance from what?

Jesus:
From Me.
Draw near to Me… and I will draw near to you. (James 4:8)

Me (quiet): Even after I mess up?

Jesus:
Especially then.

Me: So I don’t have to hide?

Jesus:
No. Come closer.

That promise—“Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you”—landed differently. It’s not about being perfect first; it’s about closing the gap I created by hiding. The more I run or cover up, the stronger temptation gets. But stepping toward Him—even messy, even after falling—invites His nearness and strength. Freedom starts when hiding stops.

It’s not instant victory, but it’s real progress. No more secret shame keeping me away; just honest coming closer.

The full conversation (including unpacking James 4:8 and the gentle invitation to stop running) is in today’s short video on the channel. It’s about 55 seconds —just raw dialogue that reminded me grace meets me right in the struggle. If you’ve been fighting in secret, watch it here: https://youtube.com/shorts/twAsDtxkOmA?feature=share

What’s one way temptation feels strongest for you when “nobody sees”? (No details needed—just the feeling or trigger if you want to share.) This is a judgment-free space. I read every comment and I’ll pray for strength and nearness over what you’re carrying.

When nobody sees the struggle… I keep fighting (and sometimes giving in to) the same temptation. What Jesus said changed how I fight
