Petechiae around eyes?
21yo female, 55kg and 160cm (last time i checked). I smoke semi-regularly (pot mostly, cigs on a night out), and don't exersize as much as I should. Try to eat healthy. Just started (as in, the past week) taking vitamin D daily supplements. I do drink a lot of caffiene (a small v most days).
I get very dry skin and get eczema pretty easily if I don't stay on top of it or irritate my skin in any way. This often develops around the eyes/eyebrow area too, which i treat with hydrocortisone acetate 1% as per doctors request. I also have rosacea most notable on my cheeks. I have a pretty solid and stable skin care routine that, as long as I don't miss a day, keeps my skin pretty happy.
I've been doing yoga on and off for years, but I just the past few months occasionally I will develop petechiae around the eyes--kinda looking like I've got a black eye. They last a few days/up to a week sometimes. I've managed to deduce that it's upside postures in yoga that tend to cause it (I think), even something as simple as downward dog, but often bridge, or today plow pose. Now that I'm looking out for it, I think I can feel it happen. I can't quite describe the feeling, but today I noticed and got out of plow asap and it's not as bad, so pretty confident this is what's causing it. It's just so random because the past like, four years it's never happened, and i cant think of anything thats really changed in my life.
Pretty sure it's petechiae but I haven't been able to see my GP yet about it so not confirmed. It's often really itchy and hot on the first day, so I've been icing it, and I've debating getting some kind of antihistamine? Nothing online says it will help, but I took my friends the first time I got it (before I figured out what it was) and i swear it helped, but maybe placebo as we thought it was an allergy at the time.
I know I will probably need a blood test, but I do yoga every day and I love it, so mostly I'm looking for any advice on how to avoid it without having to stop inversions, or ways to help manage it when it does happen. At least until I can see my GP, but that's a little while away.
The following image was taken tonight, of a more mild but fresh case because I caught it early. I've been icing it. This is my first time using an image hosting site. So please let me know if I need to change anything. Thanks heaps for your time!! https://imgur.com/a/VASb9z8
