March is Endometriosis Awareness Month sharing this as someone living with it
Many people think endometriosis only means extreme pelvic pain. But in reality, the symptoms can be much more subtle and easy to overlook.
Some of the early signs I experienced were:
• Heavier periods than usual
• Persistent bloating even with a healthy diet
• Pelvic heaviness or pulling sensation, especially during certain movements or workouts
• Unusual fatigue despite being active and sleeping well
I also realized that certain lifestyle habits were not helping my body.
Things that made a noticeable difference after changing them:
• Reducing alcohol consumption
• Quitting social smoking
• Focusing on sleep and recovery
• Paying attention to inflammation and stress
After making these changes, I noticed:
• Lighter periods
• Less bloating
• Reduced pelvic heaviness
• More stable energy levels
One important lesson: endometriosis doesn’t always show up dramatically. Sometimes it’s just small patterns your body keeps repeating.
If your cycle consistently feels “off,” it’s worth paying attention to and discussing with a doctor.
Awareness is important because many people live with these symptoms for years without realizing what might be causing them.
