Is it okay to go cold if I (15M) am emotionally exhausted from putting too much effort in my relationship compared to my partner (14F)
We have been together for 1 month and a half, recently rarely speaking to each other even in messages after school because she is always pretty busy.
I feel like I've always been the one reaching out to her, we mostly say goodnight to eachother just to keep the TikTok streak but I am usually if not always the one initiating a conversation first.
She said to me that she is always pretty busy with her hobbies (reading, etc) but that she'll always respond if I text her. I still feel so drained, but I understand that if I started playing mind games, it might turn out into a toxic relationship.
I think I am a pretty alright communicator, I am either very direct with my needs or I try to insinuate it as obvious as possible. But I don't know, she just seems really cold.
We're not perfect I know but I am also kind of afraid to communicate her about my needs and need for effort and affection because in the past she mostly pushed me away from all my advances.
I wouldn't say she's avoidant though, she is pretty nonchalant and into her studies.
TL;DR: I'd say my partner is alrightt but I feel like there is an imbalance of effort and I think that taking a break or going a bit cold might help restore that balance
