Pixel 9 Pro XL: Can't download Cinematic effects in Google Photos

Has anyone managed to fix the "Something went wrong" error when downloading 3D motion effects? I'm on a Pixel 9 Pro XL and it fails every time I try to apply it to a photo. Is this a known bug or just me?
