***Paranoid*** (5/5)

Favorite Track(s): “War Pigs” & “Paranoid”

This to me is THE Black Sabbath album. May as well be a greatest hits record because every song on here is a staple. It’s really where the whole band shines - especially Geezer and Bill. Flawless start to finish. Classic album.

***Sad Wings of Destiny*** (4/5)

Favorite Track(s): “Victims of Change”

So Priest has made their transition from Blues Rock to full on Metal. First of all, big jump in quality. More focus, great riffs, great solos. Rob Halford was decent, but now he’s really pushing himself into the direction of his Metal God status. Really great album.

***Killers*** (4/5)

Favorite Track(s): “Murders in the Rue Morgue” & “Innocent Exile”

Adrian Smith is in now and definitely adds, but the songs weren’t there for me. Playing is tighter and the sound is polished up enough. It’s also the last album with Paul Di’anno which is sad, but we’re getting the Air Raid Siren on the next album. Compared to the debut, I enjoy it less. Not bad by any means though.

***Overkill*** (4/5)

Favorite Track(s): Title Track

Production is better, but still not great. Still overall a very raw sound. Great instrumentals - still really digging Eddie’s guitar work. I enjoy it more than the debut, but still hope for more.

Which of these bands’s sophomore albums do you enjoy the most?
